Opportunities exist today where none existed only a few years ago.  Today rural landowners and communities can participate in and benefit from the harvest of clean, renewable wind energy.  Landowners in areas where wind resources exist now have the opportunity of leasing very small parcels of land to wind farms for extended periods of time.  Additionally, local communities can benefit through the awarding of contracts to construct and operate wind farms along with the creation of higher tax revenues.  

Remote communities can now couple wind turbines to existing diesel generators to offset the rising cost of diesel generated power and enjoy greater security of energy supplies as well as helping achieve the goals of the Kyoto Protocol.  

Large farms along with manufacturers can offset the high cost of retail electricity by harvesting wind energy and using it directly to reduce expensive grid-supplied electrical costs.
